Divorce Coaching

Going through a divorce, or getting over one, can be challenging and difficult. Emotions wash over you when you least expect it, making it difficult to concentrate and carry on a normal life.  Logically, you know there will eventually be an end, but how do you get to the other side?  

This is how a divorce coach can assist you: 

• Help you co-parent with your ex, if you have children together
• Join you in settlement meetings to keep you calm and focused (so your ex can't push your buttons!)
• Learn how to set aside personal feelings to make necessary decisions for the future

Once you are through the process and the divorce is final, you will need to start rebuilding your life.  This may seem like a daunting task, depending on how long you were married.  It can also be an exciting time, because you can create your new life exactly as you want it to be! 

In the "rebuilding" stage, this is what we focus on:

• Helping you work through normal emotions of loss and sadness so you can let go of the past
• Identifying areas of strength and support
• Finding your identity if you lost yourself in the marriage
• Learning to be independant and take care of your own needs
• Pacing yourself, so you don't end up on the "rebound" in a new relationship too quickly
• Learn how to pick a good partner and avoid the wrong ones!
